In a last minute appeal, Exchange Club of Rome members were asked to assist the city’s local Y in assembling warm clothing for those in need. By the piece, by the box, and by the sack Exchangites responded to the request of Amy Patterson, an Exchangite and Y staffer, with a variety of “gently used” warm coats, jackets, sweaters, gloves, and hats that were to distributed to those in need the next two days following the club’s meeting. The appeal could not have come at a better time since days after the drive the temperatures in Northwest Georgia dipped to low single digits with wind chills below zero. A great partnership for Community Service.
