Albany Exchange – Americanism Program

The Exchange Club of Albany held the Americanism program, Proudly We Hail. This programs holds a special place in each Exchange members heart because it represents the flying the American Flag properly and for the correct reasons. Americans fly the American flag for several reasons. A few reasons are support of the Declaration of Independence, US Constitution, the freedoms we enjoy under the flag, to honor those Who Sacrificed and those Who Gave All protecting our freedoms under the American Flag.

John Woodard, Proudly We Hail Committee Chair and Emcee, gave a background on Exchange Four Pillars of Service for the new members and guest: Prevention of Child Abuse, Youth, Community Service, and Americanism. Proudly We Hail is a project under the Americanism that encourages all Americans to properly fly the flag as a visible expression of patriotism, love of country, and American values.

John and Exchange Club President Steve Perrine gave recognition to six recipients from a cross-section of local business and business in the community. Each recipient was honored with an engraved specially designed plaque thanking them for honoring the American flag and its values. The honorees were Charlie’s Paint & Body (Gary Mays), Residential (Cecile St. Peter), MARS WRIGLEY (Emory Kitchings), Fuzzy’s Taco Shop (Nina Dey), LRA Constructors Inc (Jake Barrow) and Sutton’s Landing Park (Gene Sutton).
