Rome Club presents Funding & Teddy Bears

· Reading Time: 1 minute

The Exchange Club of Rome recently made some very special presentations to local organizations, taken from the proceeds of their big yard sale held a couple months ago for child safety. Checks of $500 each were presented to the Exchange Club Family Resource Center to purchase car seats to client families, the Floyd County Police Department for the purchase of car seats and to the Rome City Police Department to be used in their child safety education program.

The club also presented a supply of Time Out Teddy bears, the official spokes bear of National Exchange’s Child Abuse Prevention Program. The bears were given to the Floyd County District Attorney’s Victim Witness Program to be distributed to small children who are called upon to testify in court to help ease their anxieties. They were also give to the Rome City and Floyd County Police Departments to be used when officers come upon either an abusive situation or accident to help calm small children by giving them something to hug and cuddle.
