The support of their community’s youth is a major part of the Programs Of Service of the Exchange Club of Macon and they have selected their Youth of the Year and their A.C.E. Award winners. The YOY winner was Brady Marchman, pictured receiving his award from Club President, Ron Raleigh. Brady is President of his Senior Class, w/a GPA of 4.07. He plays Varsity football & basketball w/numerous other extracurricular activities He attends Covenant Academy but has as yet to declare his college of choice. The Club has awarded a $500 scholarship to be sent to his college of choice.
The Accepting The Challenge Of Excellence Award (A.C.E.) goes to a student who has overcome adversity to achieve in both school and community efforts. The A.C.E. winner is Tracie Frye, pictured receiving her award from Danny Thompson, Chairman of the Committee. She attends Central High School, graduating this year. Tracie is one of 11 children in her family. Due to a home fire in 2009, the family lost all of their possessions and when their home was destroyed. Her father spent 9 years in prison and Tracie works with Kroger, part time to help support her mother and siblings. She must also help care for her younger brothers & sisters. The family has had to move some 15 times since 2009. Tracie will be attending Central Georgia Technical College in Macon to study Dental Hygiene. She plans to volunteer on a mobile dental van to help children in rural areas receive dental care. These were the primary factors leading to her selection. The Club has awarded a $500 scholarship to be sent to her school of choice.
