Display Of The Tomb Of The Unknown Solider
At Veterans Day Program In Madison, GA.
The 1/2 sized replica of the Tomb Of The Unknown Soldier is both growing and going since it’s creation as an Americanism project of the Exchange Club of Rome.
The growing portion is the addition of three new scaled pieces that sit in front of the Tomb to represent the graves of an unknown American from the Korean War, Viet Nam, and the Gulf War. The display also includes a panorama photograph that is mounted behind the replica that is the actual scene from Arlington National Cemetery where the real Tomb is located. Also are included flags representing the different branches of the service.
The going portion of the program represents the fact that request for the display of the replica are coming into the club by other communities and schools to use it in educational and patriotic programs. The display has already been used in a ceremony in Niceville, FL and in the for the Veterans Day observance by request of the City of Madison, GA. The Tomb replica will be on display at the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta in early 2017.
