The Exchange Club of Waycross recently hosted Captain Jim Dillingham of the local Salvation Army Corp. In 2017, the Salvation Army received $89,000 from the Exchange Club with 82% staying in the community. Staff has no big salary. They love God and their fellow man. Disaster Services are given to persons damaged by storms Matthew, Irma, Michael and Florence. These people have nothing and nowhere to go or have other help. They have a big pantry and pay some of their utilities. They feed anyone who is hungry. They get services and food from local restaurants! Captain Jim said he is proud and likes to work with Exchange Club. They has a feasibility study underway to build a “family” shelter for women, men, and children. Then a capital campaign is being planned.
