Brunswick Club hears about ROTC

The Exchange Club of Brunswick recently hosted LCDR Michael Rickett, USN (Ret.) as a guest speaker at a club meeting. LCDR Rickett is the Commanding Officer of the Brunswick High School NJROTC program. LCDR Rickett told the club about the history of the Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, and how the NJROTC has been a program at Brunswick High School since the school started. He told the club about the different programs they teach to the students. He mentioned that NJROTC students have received over $2,000,000.00 in scholarships in the last two years, from appointments to the service academies and various other colleges. The Mission statement for Brunswick High School’s NJROTC program mission is to instill in students in United States secondary educational institutions the values of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment.
