Jimmie Rae Roberts, Kathy Riggins and Ashton Riggins of the Okefenokee Miracle League visited the Exchange Club of Waycross on March 3rd. Players from Ware and seven surrounding counties, children and adults transcend their mental or physical disabilities while engaging in the game of baseball. The games are played at the Trembling Earth Sports Complex. The Miracle League builds specially equipped fields for the players. It has cushioned rubberized turf that allows wheelchairs and walkers to glide unrestricted without fear of injury. They can hit, run and catch as they play. The “buddy” program has volunteers to assist and encourage players.
