The Exchange Club of Tifton recently presented the 2018 Firefighter of the Year Award to a member of the Tifton Fire Department. Chief Bobby Bennett introduced Engineer Lindsey Tucker as this year’s award recipient. He and Club President Betty Cromer presented him with a trophy.
Chief said that “no matter what task is asked of him, you can consider it done.” He added that Tucker always give 100% and nothing less. One of the biggest reasons for Tucker being chosen for this year’s award was his efforts in starting and maintaining a truck maintenance program. Chief said that was something that had been lacking in the department for some time and Tucker picked up the challenge and it is now running top notch.
