The Exchange Club of Savannah has presented Youth Awards to two students. Taylor Alberts was names Youth of the Year and Caleb Roberson is the local Accepting The Challenge of Excellence, A.C.E., Award winner. The Youth of the Year is given to a high school senior who has excelled not only in academics, but in service to their fellow students and their community as well. Taylor Alberts is dual enrolled at her high school and the local technical college, she is in the top 10% of her class and plans to major in communications at college. The A.C.E. award honors a graduating senior who has shown the dedication and desire to overcome adversities in their life and continue on the road to successfully completing their education. Caleb Roberson started off his senior year being in the top 10% of his class and ready to work toward a great future but was struck by a car in the first month and was on life support for five weeks. After a number of surgeries at the Shepard Spinal Center in Atlanta, he was able to return to Savannah and school where he is on track to still finish in the top 10% of his graduating class. Caleb plans to study music in college and eventually go into the law.
