Over two thousand children will have a Christmas smile this year as the Exchange Club of Rome readies for the toy distribution as the official Local Coordinating Organization for the National Toys For Tots Foundation. Over 300 boxes were distributed to locations around the area and the full boxes of toys are making their way to the club’s fairgrounds where they are received, sorted, and placed in “booths” created by age and gender. Volunteers will soon begin pulling the toys for each child that was registered during the club’s family registration process over the past month. The Exchange Club works on Toys For Tots 12 months a year. Financial donations help with purchasing of toys, especially in the big after Christmas sales to be used the following Christmas.
