The Exchange Club of Hapeville President, Carolyn Routh, presented Jackie Cathey with a check for $905.00 from the club to assist the homeless student program in Fulton County.. Jackie works in the Social Worker Services Department at Fulton County Schools. Currently there are 264 homeless students in the Tri-City area and 1235 homeless students system wide! These students can be found in a variety of living conditions including doubling up with family members, living in shelters and some are actually living in cars. Ms. Cathey reported that often times, school is the most stable thing in these children’s lives. The funds provided to the program will assist with food, transportation, health services, food and graduation fees. The funds were raised from the Exchange Club 5K race as well as from a generous donation from Atlanta Medical Center.
