In honor of April as Child Abuse Prevention month, the Exchange Club Of Valdosta hosted their annual Mom’s Night Out event at their local Southside Recreation Department. Guest speakers encouraged single moms about overcoming adversity, setting positive examples for our children, and empowering them to move forward. Raffle items, dinner and childcare including a sand art activity were provided to all attendees. The club also in honor of April as CAP month the Club sponsored our local Prevent Child Abuse of Lowndes County breakfast and pinwheel presentation in which each pinwheel represents a reported case of child abuse which was 1,807 in 2017 and are displayed on the city hall lawn for the month.
