Susan Wood and Pam Aldridge from the House of Heroes spoke to the Exchange Club of Columbus. They explained their organization helps and honors military and public safety veterans and/or their spouses who have served our country faithfully and sacrificially. Through service , House of Heroes, Inc. (HOH) volunteers attempt to convey our nation’s gratitude by making minor repairs to their home at no cost to the homeowner/veteran. Recipients are then recognized at a special ceremony and are presented with a flag that has been flown over the Capitol of the United States in their honor. Their numbers are amazing – since 2000 they have helped over 700 individuals. In 2016 alone, 78 veterans were helped. To date in 2017, 47 have already been helped! And there are still 178 waiting.
