Gordon Rodgers with Flint River Keeper provided a program for the Exchange Club of Albany recently. Gordon shared how River Keeper started back in the 60’s on the Hudson River in an effort to protect the fish population by reducing pollution. Flint River Keeper began 10 years ago and is working to preserve and protect the Flint River. Gordon informed us of the infrastructural challenges facing our local sewage system. He also explained it will take a huge sum of money to fix the issues plaguing our system. Gordon also enlightened us on the Tri-State Water Wars and the decisions that need to be made regarding water management in GA, AL and FL.
