As part of their Community Service program the Exchange Club of Columbus has honored the Firefighter Of The Year, Firefighter James Bloodworth, Jr.  He grew up in Columbus where his Dad was a paramedic/firefighter and his mom worked at the hospital. He was an active youngster, volunteering for events, and earning his Eagle Scout in 1999.  His Chief described him as the epitome of a firefighter – he displays perseverance, professionalism and is fearless in all he does. He is a natural volunteer and trainer, and has a thirst for learning more. He is actively involved in learning more about urban search and rescue, urban medial training and SWAT tactical medical training. .
