Larry “Gator” Rivers, a Savannah Native and former member of the famed Harlem Globetrotters explained to members of the Exchange Club of Savannah how he uses his basketball talents to work with youth.  He moved back to Savannah in 2007 and since then he has been working with local young people and his talents in basketball give him an opportunity to talk with young people and show them how basketball teaches them some valuable life lessons.  Lessons like “Potential without desire is like desire without potential.  You don’t get any anywhere without the other.”  He uses the rules of basketball to teach kids lessons in integrity and good sportsmanship.
